Conversations: The Light

Preface
This series of entries comes from various thoughts, struggles, and questions I’ve had on my walk with God. At times, these entries have been solemn monologues I’ve experienced in moments of quiet or in places of weakness. Other times, these entries have been God’s way of dialoguing with me. As I brought my questions before Him, He showed me the truth that I was seeking. Of course, there were times that what I thought was true turned out to be vastly different from what He calls truth. With Him being Truth itself, I have chosen to put my untrue flesh to death in the hope that it will be revived in that real Truth. For the sake of making this more readable, I’ve decided to break one large entry into a series of smaller entries. Hopefully, these entries will bring to light the questions you have kept in the dark and open new avenues of conversation between you and The Father.

The Light
You are the God who doesn’t hide. To those who don’t seek You, You might seem invisible. But invisible isn’t the right word. It’s more like walking into a dark room and turning on the light, only to discover a surprise party waiting for you—filled with laughter, joy, and love.

The party was there all along, quietly celebrating existence, waiting for you to notice. They saw you come in, set your keys down, and move through the room, their excitement barely contained as they anticipated the moment the light would flicker on.

For a brief moment before the light, you might have unintentionally looked their way, sensing a warmth wrapping around you like a familiar blanket. But it’s not until the light shines that you see it clearly—the smiles, the decorations, the camaraderie that had been patiently waiting for your arrival. The party wasn’t hiding; you just couldn’t see it through the veil of shadows.

The Choice of Light

There are some who choose to leave the light off, clinging to the familiarity of darkness, avoiding the discovery of what lies beyond. They miss out on the vibrant life You offer.

Others make their way through the dark, letting their eyes adjust to the shadows. They navigate by faint outlines, mistaking the dim shapes for reality. The danger for these people is that they might live their entire lives believing they’ve seen You—emotionally and spiritually convinced of Your presence—but without the light, they miss so much.

They miss the fullness of Your love.
They miss the depth of Your wisdom.
They miss the overwhelming joy of true connection.

The Light Revealed

But for those whose light is turned on, even after years of navigating in darkness, what a magnificent surprise awaits!

At first, the brilliance of the light might sting, as it forces them out of their comfortable shadows. But as the light grows familiar, it transforms everything. The shadowy figures take on true shape, revealing not just faces but stories, connections, and a sense of belonging that had been silently longed for.

The revelation is transformative. The light ushers in clarity, enriching lives and deepening their understanding of what it means to be in communion with You.

The Celebration

You are the celebration we long for. The party is already here, vibrant and alive, waiting for us to see it. And when the light comes on, we finally see it for what it truly is—a place of love, joy, and endless communion.
